“But ask the animals, and they will teach you, or the birds in the sky, and they will tell you;” - Job 12:7
I know we all want the world to change. And it can, if WE change. Humans have to quit thinking they are doing things right. If we were doing things right, this world would be just like God intended it to be: Good, with only prosperity and no harm. Jeremiah 29:11 tells us this. For humans to change, we have to be open to it first of all, and we have to accept what we are doing wrong to be able to learn what is right. God has put us in a place that is surrounded by ways to learn how to be like Him. To be just like Jesus! But we have to be humble enough to have a heart that wants to learn to be able to see Him.
The scripture above gives us a clue on how to learn the ways of God, through the animals all around us. God is a spirit. He communicates with us through spirit. He expects us to do the same. Galatians 5:16 says, “So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.” The desires of the flesh are sin, they have no faith, and scripture tells us that anything that is not faith is a sin.
How can we learn from the creation around us? Let’s use dogs as an example. We know that our dogs can sense things that they cannot physically see. We know they know people are approaching our homes before we even do. Most times we have to see them, or hear the doorbell to know someone has come to our home. How many times do we ask ourselves, why can they do this but we cannot? We should be! Today I asked myself. I looked at my dog and simply asked him how he communicates in spirit. He looked at me as he always does. He trusts me. He obeys me. And I know he truly loves me. If I take just those things and apply them to how I live, do I trust God like my dog trusts me? Do I obey God just like my dog obeys me? Do I love God just like this puppy loves me? My dog is forgiving, he doesn’t hold grudges, he’s peaceful, he feels bad if he does wrong, he never tries to tell me what to do, he just trusts that I’m going to do what is right for him. Am I the same way to my owner? The one that created me, knowing my purpose and destiny?Trusting in God 100% to provide for me, trusting Him to instruct me on how to live, trusting Him to correct me when I am wrong, and obeying what His word says will allow my spirit to be above my flesh. All those things will allow for me to connect to Him in spirit. Then I can see beyond this world! I can see what God sees!
We must pay attention to everything around us to learn who God is. We must be humble and ready to learn from everything! Living like Jesus is the only way to find God. It’s the only way to go home at the end of all this. So let’s learn what God is trying to show us in all things surrounding us.
“How many are your works, Lord! In wisdom you made them all; the earth is full of your creatures. There is the sea, vast and spacious, teeming with creatures beyond number—living things both large and small.” - Psalm 104:24-25
