“For God did not call us to be impure, but to live a holy life. Therefore, anyone who rejects this instruction does not reject a human being but God, the very God who gives you his Holy Spirit.” - 1 Thessalonians 4:7-8
God gives us opportunities to be redeemed and to be forgiven. (1 Corinthians 16:9) God gives us opportunities to change and be renewed and to stop choosing evil. If you want patience and you pray to God for patience, you will have an opportunity to be patient. An opportunity to tell the devil no and God yes. An opportunity to be strong and be a solider of light. This creation is a training course to prove we have what it takes to go back home to Heaven. It is full of opportunities to prove ourselves worthy. If you stay thankful to Jesus, you will pass every opportunity. If you complain and curse God for your own sin, you will fail every opportunity.
God sent Jesus to live here and die so we could have another opportunity to choose Him. A clean slate. A fresh start. He was an example of what God would do. Jesus’s sacrifice was never a guarantee for us. He was not sent as a fast pass for salvation. He was not sent so you can continue in sin. He was sent as an opportunity for salvation. Salvation comes from being righteous and holy (1 Peter 1:15). Salvation comes from being strong and doing what is right. Salvation comes from within. Salvation comes from who you are on the inside. God doesn’t look at the outside. God searches the heart. We must confess our sins and never do them again. (1 John 1:9) If we let go of the sin, we can be free. God is not ok with sin, he expects us to be holy. (1 Thessalonians 4:7-8). He gave us everything to do so. He gave us Jesus. And God wants us so happy and thankful that He sent His son that we change and leave sin behind (Titus 2:14). The Holy Spirit is here to remind us all how to live like Jesus. (John 14:16). But if you are sinning, how can that spirit talk to you and lead you? (1 Thessalonians 5:19) Sin makes you ignore and disobey the Holy Spirit.
Romans 3:23 says, “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,”. This is not an excuse for you not to change. This is a wake up call to hurry and change. Without the glory of God, you cannot go to heaven. Jesus is the only way to get to heaven. And that’s by taking every opportunity to live like Jesus, remembering God searches your heart, not your physical actions.
Take God’s opportunity to change your ways today. Do not be willing to have a sinful heart anymore. Change today!
